NEW YORK CITY, FUTURE FURNITURE AWARD / Dynamic Screen

New York City, May 2006: Interior Design Magazine has awarded the Dynamic Screen with the Future Furniture Award.

The Dynamic Screen is a vertical wall surface composed of parallel elasticized strips of varying heights. The flat two-dimensional face transforms into a three-dimensional surface allowing views and light through the screen.

The internal structure of the screen is composed of a steel frame with irregular zigzag posts that rotate along a central pivot. The rotation of the zigzag members creates tension on the elasticized strips and transforms the surface. The screen was designed as a room divider that can provide different levels of privacy at different times of the day.
